Been busy with life's flings of mud and snow dumps

Hi to all my soapaholics.  Sorry  I've been a bit off the soap blog posting trail.

My mother passed away Jan. 26.  She was 84.  It was expected, but one is never ever ready for it.  I've been a bit blue about it, but content in that she went peacefully and did not have a long, lingering illness and undignified suffering.

SW MO just seems to be having a never ending winter. This is unlike any winter I've experienced here and I've had serious old timers tell me it's been 50 years or more since they can recall a winter like this. It's just a never ending ride of cold, snow dumps, more cold and then more snow dumps.  Granted, we dodged the ice storms of early Feb. I feel for those who got slammed with it.  I still have flashback nightmares of our 2007 ice storm.  And in all honesty, I can't even imagine the hell that is the eastern seaboard right now.  I've been calling it a Snonami.  Though I am remembering the great Chicago blizzard of 79, I don't think it was 50 inches of snow.

This fubar weather is wreaking serious havoc on shipping schedules and deliveries.  Stuff gets so far and then has to sit for days on end until it clears a bit. I've actually got orders to the east coast that have told me to hold it until...whenever.  Smart.

I've had a very good responses to the Roses, Wine & Chocolate soap.  Thanks to all who tried it.  I've got an Easter soap coming, something very "Springy" and in a pretty multi-pastel palette. So even if it's funky weather, it will still make you think of Spring.  I'm also thinking of adding a Lemon Coconut Soap.  Why?  Well, every year I make a Lemon Coconut Cake for Easter, even before I was married.  When I was growing up, my mom usually did too.  So I guess I better get busy.

I'm also working on a special soap for for Mother's Day.  Something very feminine and floral.

Got a new camera, so when the soaps are ready to be presented, I can post pictures.  That no camera thing got old fast!

Off to sniff some blends I made.  Spring is coming...Eventually

The floral soaps sound great and I`m looking forward to ordering them. From the Jo`s Rose, which I dearly love and favorite, the floral Spring soap just could easily be another soap I`ll include in my orders. Plus I know people!! I like the sound of a lemon soap.

I`m not into floral soaps and the lemon one will make me hungry. Do you have any dirt smelling soap? Bun loves dirt/mud. Maybe if he had dirt sented soap, it wouldn`t be such a fight to dip his dirty body into the bath water.

      Hi from over here!
The sesonal flower theme has crossed my mind.  But they would end up being made with fragrance oils and I try to keep a balance of 50/50 natural fragrance/frarance oils.  But...since I have expanded my distribution outlets a bit, I may just do that and see what happens.  Make a small run of them.

So what's your seasonal flower favorites? Besides an English Rose? <snicker>

      Toddles.
